Scary!

It might seems to be a weird way to start my blog, but the time is scary! The time is flying by way too fast, but not fast enough. I have mixed feelings… I received my domestic flights last Wednesday and that scared the shit out of me! I'll be flying out of Mackay with Thea and Sarah, at 6.30am on the 2nd of June. That day is coming too close, but the 3rd of June isn’t close enough. We’ll fly to Brisbane and after an hour stop we’ll fly through to Sydney. I’m excited to see mum, dad and everyone else again (and my dog!), but I don’t want my aussie life to end. So that’s why I enjoy every moment. I look at the little things and think: this is perfect and I will miss this.

I went back to school on Tuesday and school was pretty normal. Canoeing with rec, it’s pretty good. I can’t remember all the things we did, bad memory, wooooow.

I had to make Dutch food for ‘culture day’ for Thursday. Sarah had to make Austrian food. Soooooo, I made ‘hutspot’ (mashed potato with carrot and onion) and ‘filled eggs’ and I brought biscuits; krakelingen, speculaas and mergpijpen. Plenty, but everything was gone by the end of the day. They even liked the hutspot, didn’t expect that! Oooh and so handy that Woolworths has Dutch food (:

Friday when I got home after school, I had to pack my stuff quickly and we went to Cohen’s footy game. Afterwards Red Rooster quickly and John and Krista dropped me off at Mackay North High School, so I could meet Laura and Sydney there. Mackay North had a fair, and Laura goes there. We walked around and went on a ride. once we got home we talked and watched tv. It was so good to catch up again, because we had such a great time on the Safari. Saturday we watched an ice hockey game, because Sydney loves it. Canadian, that’s why!

Sydney went to a birthday lunch, so Laura and I wanted to go to canelands, but her hostdad dropped us of at Mount P, so we had to catch the bus. But we didn’t have time, so we went to Baskin Robbins! Yummmm. I’ve had that 3 or 4 times now since I’ve been here and this was probably the last time. Before we went back, we went to Woolworths quickly; I wanted to show her the Dutch food section (: And I bought stroopwafels (syrup waffles), delicious! By the time we were back at her place, Sydney was back as well. Krista picked me up at three.

So we went straight home, got ready, took some stuff, and left again. Busy! We went to Crystal’s place and Krista and I went out to have a good time, whahahahha. We sure did! Sunday was sleeping. Till 2.30 pm for me, ah well. Should be okay sometimes.

Monday back to school, well, that was a mission. Nah, wasn’t too bad. We did capsizing with rec, with canoeing, it was fun though. You can put me in any kind of boat, and I’ll be fine. I love water, boats, sailing and all that stuff!
That night Krista took me out bowling, with some of her old friends from high school. It was so much fun. But let’s be honest: I’m a retard, so when I do bowling, I kick my right leg up in the air, above my head and it hurts. Just can’t stop it. I was first up to round 6 and I ended second last. Whoooops!

And today, Tuesday, was schoool and nothing hihihi. Just because I can. And of course, we watched House Rules and Packed To The Rafters! I love those aussie shows (:
Ooooooh by the way, last Sunday I watched the Eurovision Song Contest Final as well. This was the first time since 2004 that the Netherlands made it into the final. And Anouk became 9th with her song Bird. I reckon that’s amazing, after so many year of failure! Us Dutchies can be proud <3

It’s time to go to sleep now, so I can finish some last assignments of tomorrow. I’m so slack with school…
See you all next week!

Dutch Peter Pan!

Yes, I really went like Peter Pan to Maddi’s dress up party. More about that later!

School was normal, again. I passed my geography tests, I seriously don’t know how. But I did it.

John had to do night shifts on tuesday and wednesday night (ended up doing nights shifts on thursday, friday and today as well), so I was alone with Krista and the kids. Tuesday night we got crepes for dinner, yummie! And we ended up eating jelly out of a bowl. Really normal. How do you eat your jelly?

Wednesday was homework. Or not. Just nothing, nice and relaxed. Friday we went to Cohen’s AFL game. So cute, little kids playing footy. He played for under 7 and under 9. It was pretty windy and cold, but I was so clever to bring my windproof jacket (: We went to maccas and to crystal afterwards.

Saturday we went to town to do groceries and to do some other stuff. And then I went to Dakota, getting ready for the party! Well, that was a mission, Dakota just fitted in her Alice In Wonderland dress, she dropped the phone in a sink full of water…. Stressing to make the phone work again. Rice is handy for everything!

Well, the theme was animated characters. So Koda was Alica in Wonderland and I went as Peter Pan. “I’m from the Netherlands.” “Oooooooh, where Peter Pan lives!” Sure…. I’ve had that so many times… I had an XXL men’s shirt and tights, and comfy ugg boots. Best costume ever!

The party was fun fun fun! Awesome people and everything. Koda and I and three other people went swimming, well that was fun! We all had a good time (: i was supposed to stay the night, but my back was sore and I wanted to go home. So I went home. Krista never locks both doors, but of course, the only night I want to come home after a party, the doors are locked. So I was standing there at 3, but walked back to my friends house and the next morning at 7 Mackensie was up. She opened the door for me :)

I went to bed, but was over tired. Around 9.30 we went to Krista’s mum, because it was Mother’s Day! We had breakfast/lunch there. Afterwards to John’s parents for dinner. I don’t know how, but I was still awake…. Once we got home I went straight to bed, to sleep after 38 hours awake…

Stayed home today, and back to school tomorrow. and GOOD LUCK Dutchies!

See ya all very soon xxxx <3

Keep Calm and Wear Orange!

Hi people!

I'm about 16.000 kms away from the Netherlands, but that doesn't mean I don't follow the Dutch news.
I don't follow much Dutch news, but one day was important: Queensday!
Queensday was really special this year, because the dutch Queen Beatrix resigned, after 33 years. So on Tuesday April 30 at 10 am (6pm in Australia), she resigned and Prince Willem-Alexander is now King Willem-Alexander and his wife is Queen Maxima now.

The Dutchies know all this, hopefully.
I wish I could have been there, it was a special day and Queensday is always much fun anyways. But I'll be there for the first Kingsday next year!

I watched the abdication, balcony scene and the rest of queensday on Youtube. I was so happy they had a livestream. And Wednesday is my Access day, so I could sleep in the next day, and I got sick!

And then about normal life: I had to go back to reality, after my holiday. That was hard as! But I'm used to school again. It's sooooo busy, because I'm two weeks behind. Luckily I don't have to do my english assignment, but I still gotta do heaps of other things...

But I was sick, maybe it was way too cold on the Outback Safari, so I still didn't do much on Thursday and stayed home on Friday. Oh well, I'll catch up with everything. I hope. If not: too bad for the teachers hahhaha.

And we got our senior shirts!

Saturday Krista and I went to town and after that to Tania. But I had a sleep between that, was still too tired. Sunday was doing groceries and I bought a kind of costume for a party next weekend. It's supposed to look like a Peter Pan costume. When I say; I'm from the Netherlands, people answer: Oooooooh where Peter Pan lives!
oooooh gosh. No, peter pan doesn't live in the Netherlands, but in NEVERland.

Monday, school, awesome. Ahummm... Nah, it wasn't too bad. I try to enjoy every da and everything, that means I enjoy school as well, even though it's busy with assignments and tests. Because I have only 27 days left... And that scares me!

On the 17th there is a 'culture' day at school, which means me and Sarah have to make some food, typical for our homecountry. Oh, what's a good, simple, typical Dutch dish? Because I'm a horrible cook!

By the way, I'll have mini updates like this every week now, just because I like the blogging now.

And if people wanna see something about my Outback Safari:
the first didn't work to upload to this blog, but this is the link:

And this is a really good one as well, with my birthday cake in it!
Thanks to Janica Koivusalo, from Finland as well!

Finnish people rule hahahah.

See ya later xxx
