Travel makes you richer!

Bonjour!
So I use one word French this year.
It has been a couple of weeks after my last post. I'm so slack to update my blog... But here it is:

It's true!

The first week of the holidays we went camping with a big part of the family. It was half a minute walking to the beach, Smalleys Beach, and good weather the whole week! Luckily, the second week of the holidays it was raining, and raining, and raining...

Sarah and me slept in a small tent, and yeah. I survived it! The shower was a bag, but on Thursday we had a shower at home. Cheating (: Monday it was Sarah's 16th birthday, so Helga made a really good chocolate cake. Yummieeeee. We had a fire, so some evenings roasted marshmellows. The ultimate camping- feeling! The guys went fishing some times and we went swimming sometimes. But after a couple of days, someone else caught a 6,5 foot shark. But the line broke, so it became free again. No swimming there anymore... Sunday we went swimming in a creek, but down the creek were crocodiles. No swimming there anymore... Thursday we went to Sea Forth, there was a swimming net around a part of the water, so no crabs, fish, crocodiles, turtle (Sarah and me saw a turtle chilling in the water near the camp site one day) or sharks. It was lovely with Brittany and Sarah (:

But yeah, the animals are a bit bigger and more different than in 'Dutchy Land'... Sunday we woke up, opened the tent. First thing we saw was a kangaroo. There was also a iguana (??) hanging around... That gave us funny moments, when it came out of the bush and Krista standing on a table. But it runs up to big things if it gets scared, so she sat down quickly. Poor kids and Sarah were a bit scared sometimes. Luckily the bush turkeys weren't dangerous.

One evening two men drove by, they asked if they could stay there. The one who was talking had an obvious French accent. So Sarah immediatly: SHE CAN SPEAK FRENCH.*pointing at me*
Lovely. Well, I hadn't heard, written or spoken any French since three months. And I wasn't a legend in French class AT ALL... But luckily he could understand the English. I don't think I'll remember any French when I come back. Whoooops.

Over-all it was a really nice week, good weather, great people and I survived my first REAL camping week (: No problem at all!

But when I came home, I was sooooo unbelievably happy with my own, comfi, clean, double bed. I missed my best friend hahaha!  Sunday we went had MacDonalds for lunch: no junkfood for a week is too long. And Speedway was on at the evening, so that was speedway again.

The second week was about rest, relaxing time, doing nothing, rain and a little bit of school work. And being home also means: television. And that means: x-factor! Yup, I also follow that kind of shows here. Many people don't like it. But I also watch it with John and Krista, when we are at home. Almost every morning it's MTV, with nice songs. I'm kind of addicted to 'Battle Scars' by Guy Sebastian now. He is so cute!

The last saturday me and Krista went to the hairdresser. Well, the people who don't know me that well: I'm pretty lazy with my hair. I don't dye it or something else. Only a simple haircut for the split ends. So that was much waiting. And waiting. And waiting. My appoinment took 20 minutes, Krista's over 3 hours. Yup. But the hairdresser was really nice (: And no one could see a difference afterwards, of course. And neither did I!!!
Monday it was the first day of the last term. Exciting! Nope. But the first days of school were okay, and it's getting hotter. The summer is coming...

Thursday was a geography trip in town, luckily in casual clothes. As we would say in Dutch: 'We hoefden niet voor Jan met de korte achternaam te lopen!' It was pretty boring, two presentations at Regional Council and a department of that. About roads, the environment and stuff. Well, if they said a road name, I didn't know where it exactly was in town... Confusing. Some people fell a sleep hahahaha. After a lunch in Caneland, we went back to school.

Friday after school I went to Maddi's with Nicky (Nicole). We went to an art gallery opening of Mirani High students, also Maddi. It was really nice. People know I'm not creative at all, and if you ask me to draw a dog, it looks like everything but a dog... I always think it's impressive to see how people can draw that well and have such a creative mind. Maybe I'm a bit jealous hahahah.
We met Lauren and Emily there and we had a nice dinner afterwards with the girls at a good Indian restaurant. I always like that! Saturday morning I was back home.

Saturday afternoon I skyped with my parents, after five weeks. Really bad. But if people want to skype: no worries. Just ask (:
And then I had to hurry hurry hurry to get ready for dinner in town with John and Krista. And after dinner we went to the Cinema, to 'The Watch'.It was pretty funny (:

It was a normaal week of school. And now everybody has holidays in the Netherlands. Because of all those tweets, I also get a holiday feeling. But I have four weeks left. Time  flies!
Everybody is so excited: only four weeks of highschool left!
Me: only 1,5 year of highschool left! :(
But I don't really care, cause I'm here :D

Oooooh and  the cockatoo is gone. It's so quiet now! But those people  didn't take the cage... And Kens is small enough to fit in hahahaha. On the left the picture: Kensie was sitting on the swing (:
Kids can be lovely ♥

The next weeks won't be very exciting. It's school, assignments and stuff. 16 november my holiday starts!

Yesterday we went to Woolies Walkerston: the supermarket with the Dutch food! The peppermints are a lot better than 'salmiak drop' hahaha (: And I agree.
I wanna make 'poffertjes' one day, but I don't where I can find a good poffertjes pan to make it.

And sometimes I think about school in the Netherlands, Drachtster Lyceum, but it's so good here and easier with clothes! I don't stand in front of my closet to think what I'll wear that day. No pressure, no people judging. Just an uniform: easy, comfi, lazy. Maybe I'll have to take my uniform back to NL and just wear to school hahahha.

Mum and Dad: hope you had a nice and relaxed weekend in Aken/ Luik/ Maastricht. That's easy: within a few hours to three countries. Ten hour drive south here and you're still in the same state!

Good luck people with the temperatures getting lower hahaha! And VWO 6: Good luck with your exams!

Byeeee!
